Dashmina is a promising upazila in agriculture of Patuakhali district in the Division of Barishal. It has 28,490 households and a total area of 351.87 km2. It is situated on the Bank of the river Tetulia. There are 6 unions of Dashmina including the Sadar at the centre. This upazila has been divided into 18 blocks to carry out agricultural extension activities properly. Paddy, jute, wheat, maize, mustard, lentils, fruits, winter and summer vegetables are the main crops of the area.
